O-RINGS

XMEK’s O-Rings are globally recognized for their versatility and efficiency in sealing applications. We offer a broad range of sizes and materials to meet diverse industrial demands. These bi-directional, circular seals are crafted from elastomeric compounds to enable adaptability and resilience.

O-RINGS

O-Rings are a torus, or donut-shaped ring generally molded from an elastomer. An O-ring prevents the loss of a fluid or gas over a wide range of temperatures, pressures and tolerances. Applications for these types of seals can be used in static or dynamic applications in rod, piston and axial configurations. Standard sizes per AS568 are available as well as custom sizes from micro seals to infinite inner diameters.

Benefits:

  • Wide variety of materials available (EPDM, NBR, FKM, FFKM, VMQ, FMVQ, Aflas, HNBR, CR, CSM)
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Seals over a wide range of pressure, temperature, and tolerance.
  • Failure is normally gradual and easily identified
  • Cost effective

ENCAPSULATED O-RINGS

Encapsulated O-Rings are specifically designed to address the problem of sealing the most hostile chemicals and extreme temperature applications. Encapsulated O-Rings consist of a solid or hollow elastomeric core encapsulated in a PTFE FEP or PFA sheath. To ensure optimum chemical resistance XMEK offers a unique compound with an extremely low compression set. The elastomeric core may be fluorocarbon or silicone rubber. Solid core encapsulated O-Rings are generally used in static applications. Hollow silicone core encapsulated O-Rings are commonly used in applications where lower sealing force is required as in semi dynamic applications. The encapsulated O-Ring offers an effective solution for many difficult applications. Maximum operating temperature for FEP is 205°C (400°F) and for PFA 260°C (500°F).

Encapsulated O-Ring dimensions comply with International O-Ring dimensional standards. The encapsulation does not increase the cross section compared to a standard elastomer of the same size.

Benefits:
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Temperature range
  • silicone core: -75°F to 400°F (-60°C to 205°C)
  • fluorocarbon core: 5°F to 440°F (-15°C to 205°C)
  • special applications are possible up to 500°F (260°C)
  • Overall hardness 85° Shore A ± 5 durometer
  • Sterilizable
  • Pressures from vacuum to 10000 psi (700 bar, 70 MPa)
  • Low compression set characteristics.
  • Anti-adhesive properties, non stick surface, low coefficient of friction
  • FDA compliant
  • No restrictions on inside diameter

X-RINGS

XMEK provides a wide variety of X-RINGS in many materials. X-RINGS are four-lipped seals and provide excellent sealing characteristics for a broad range of applications.

These seals reduce friction and provide stability in application.

SQUARE RINGS

A square ring is a sealing component with a square shaped cross-section. XMEK offers square rings in a variety of elastomeric and thermoplastic materials.
In many static applications, square rings may be a direct replacement for an O-Ring and generally will perform a high pressure gasketing function as well as or better than a standard O-Ring.
